Molecular Modeling Training Series: LAMMPS and GROMACS

Online LRZ LAMMPS GROMACS

As part of the LRZ's Molecular Modeling Training Series, this two-day online course introduces molecular dynamics concepts and selected molecular dynamics software packages used in molecular modeling workflows. The Leibniz Supercomputing Center (LRZ) of the Bavarian Academy of Sciences and Humanities will organize the course on 18 and 19 November 2026.

The courses in the Molecular Modeling Training Series are designed to meet the needs and expectations of users working in molecular modeling, computational chemistry, computational biology, materials science, biophysics, and related fields. While the series focuses on these users and their use cases, all sessions of the Molecular Modeling Training Series are open to all interested parties.

This course on LAMMPS and GROMACS introduces participants to molecular dynamics concepts and selected software packages used in molecular modeling workflows. The course includes an introductory session on molecular dynamics, followed by dedicated sessions on LAMMPS and GROMACS. Hands-on exercises will be conducted using the virtual HPC cluster RedLion.
