The webinar on software installation on HPC systems will be organized by the EuroCC National Competence Center Sweden (ENCCS) on 14 May 2026.
There are multiple methods available to install software on HPC systems, depending on their specific configuration. This beginner-friendly webinar is designed for new users of supercomputers who want to install software by themselves. It will briefly cover topics such as compiling code from source (make and cmake), utilizing package managers (conda, Spack, and EasyBuild), and deploying executables with containers (Singularity).
Participants of this webinar will:
- Gain hands-on experience with practical examples.
- Understand the basics of HPC software installation, and learn why software installation on HPC differs from regular systems.
- Explore different software installation methods and learn best practices for managing software dependencies.
